The 1108 Retirees Club

The CWA Local 1108 Retirees Club meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 10 am at the Brookhaven Town Senior Center on Montauk Highway in Blue Point.  John Cuttone in President of the Club, and he and the board are actively perusing all Local 1108 retirees to join the club and help out.

Retirement means many different things to many different members, and the 1108 Retirees Club is an active group looking to stay involved with the union and aid and assist the CWA in continuing to give retirees a voice.

The  club is involved with the Long Island Alliance for Retired Americans, which brings together retires from different unions and backgrounds to take on issues like retiree benefits, social security benefits, Medicare prescriptions and awareness and political action.

The club also participates in local charity drives, contributing toys to under privileged children and delivering goods to needy families during the Holidays. The Club also looks to support union approved candidates who support workers’ rights and who recognize labors’ efforts to improve our community.

At the monthly meetings, the club hosts sponsors and guest speakers, and refreshments are served.  To get involved, contact the union office at (631) 654-1108 for times and details. Stay involved during your retirement and join the CWA Local 1108 Retirees Club!
