All the rights and benefits our union has achieved over the years were not handed to us on a silver platter. We had to fight for everything  we have, and many things we have we sometimes take for granted.

We are reminded during contract negotiations just how important it is that we have the power and capability to mobilize if need be. But mobilization is a tactic and tool that Local 1108 needs to keep constant and current, that’s why we engage in mobilizing efforts all year round.

Whether it jobsite actions or organizing actions, Local 1108 makes it a point to constantly keep the members informed, involved and engaged in mobilization efforts.  When an employer abuses power and violates the contract, or does something to hurt a member, we need to be ready to act! That’s why it is vital that all members help out, stay in touch with their steward, and get involved in the unions’ mobilization efforts.

One way to stay plugged in is to sign up for Communicate 1108, an email notification service that is sent out to Local 1108 members to keep them informed about mobilization efforts.
